What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of cooling off from the hot summer heat? Water, right? Discovery Bay has a lot of different water-related activities to explore. There is a full-service marina with docks and a yacht club. Water sports are in abundance; boating, wakeboarding, windsurfing, jet skiing and swimming.
Accessing the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta, Discovery Bay is situated within an intricate network of waterways navigable to the Pacific Ocean – so take advantage! Along this waterway, you’ll find access to Brannan Island State Recreation Area. Brannan Island has over 140 campsites and areas for picnicking and swimming. Nearby islands and marshes are home to many wildlife habitats and recreational opportunities including boating, windsurfing and swimming.
Outdoor Recreation
Another water-related activity, try your hand at fishing! Discovery Bay is home to striped bass, sturgeon, catfish, bluegill, perch and bullhead. This is a great way to include the whole family, whether it’s just for a couple of hours or a weekend trip.
Nearby state parks, wetlands, marshes and reserves offer hiking, camping, hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities to accommodate everyone in the family.

Clubs and Activities
Have fun and become a fixture in the community by joining the Discovery Bay Country Club. With DBCC, you’ll have access to great golfing, bocce ball, special social events such as a 2015 Summer Concert presentation of The Music of Chicago and a Ladies Invitational golf tournament (both events already sold out!) – all while building great local connections and spending time with friends, new and old.
